Windows Defender should help, too.
In order to fix this problem, you should format your hard drive and resinstall windows.
Kaspersky and AOL also announced an agreement this week for a free service. You just need to provide a vlaid email address so they can send the activation key.

If you don't like AOL, you can try the CA ezTrust offer which has a free 1 yr subscription. Details are in the second link.

If you have broadband connection, you might also try the Microsoft Safety site and let your machine run.
E-trust has a contract with Microsoft to provide an anti-virus software that allows for updates free for one year. You just have to have the license emailed to you.
