Can anyone tell me of a good but free antivirus?

im gonna format my computer because its full of so many viruses and i'd like to know what free antivirus i can download to protect it...does anyone know of a really good free antivirus? (by the way i've tried avast home edition and its good but id like something better if there is anything)

Use ad-adware 2007 free,Spybot search%26destroy,Superantispyware free and avg anti-virus free.All free programs.

YOu can download all these from download.com.Be sure to update them regurally.

AVG is one of the best that I recomend. (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-fre... It is a very good antivirus protection program and it also update itself automatic. I used it for over 3 years without any problems or viruses.

I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following linkhttp://www.computeractive.co.uk/. On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category.I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Hope this helps
try Ad-Aware 2007 and Spybot Search and Destroy. Both are free and I think can be found on download.com, if not you can find them easily on google. hopes this helps. Using both of these programs will really help greatly.
